OUR SCOOTERS
Our rental scooters have the following characteristics:
2020 or Newer Models
150 cc engines
Various colors
Your Tulum scooter rental also includes the following:
Helmets
Fork Lock
In regard to the size, 150cc scooters are THE FASTEST in the area. Anything larger, and it’s going to be less agile and difficult to maneuver. Anything smaller and it won’t have the pep that you need in order to keep up with traffic. Moreover, on a scooter, you will fit right in. The 110-150cc scooters are what most of the locals ride, so you won’t be targeted by police as a tourist.
Even though scooters that are older than two years old are perfectly legitimate and fine to ride, we triy to maintain a newer fleet of rental scooters because newer scooters require less maintenance and care–and our customers are less likely to have breakdowns. All of our scooters are less than 2 years old and therefore more consistent & reliable.
In essence, we worry about your scooter rental so that you don’t have to.

Why You Should Rent A Scooter In Tulum
Tulum is a relatively small town. Nonetheless, if you want to get a feel for the city, you really need to get out and explore.
What do you want to see in Tulum?
Cenotes
With a scooter it’s easy. Find a cenote. Mark it on a map. Turn your phone’s GPS on. Jump on your rental scooter & go.
Beaches
If you don’t want to tread over the beaten tourist path, you don’t have to. With a scooter rental, you can ride parallel with the coastline until you find a picturesque beach. Then simply hop off your scooter and put your feet in the sand. You are the boss–nobody else.
Tulum Ruins
Probably the most well-known photos associated with Tulum come from the ruins here. They are easy to visit via scooter and far more accessible than going by car due to parking and traffic–especially during high season.
Mayan Villages
Once you fall in love with Tulum, you’ll probably want to investigate some of the eclectic neighborhoods. From eco-friendly jungle retreats to upscale construction sites, Tulum is growing fast. If you are thinking of moving or retiring here, there’s no better way to explore the area than on a scooter.
Using a rental scooter to explore Tulum is by far your best option, but let’s take a look at some of the other options just to be clear:
Taxi Cab Option
Taking a taxi to every destination that you want to explore in Tulum is your worst option. Taxi drivers are notoriously dishonest. Moreover, they can get expensive very quickly. Finally, while taxi drivers are readily abundant in tourist-abundant locations, they are often very difficult to find if you want to get off the beaten track. If you’re on a budget, an adventurer, or you don’t like waiting, taking taxis everywhere is not a reasonable option.
Bike Rental Option
A bike is great, if it’s not too hot (which it often is). In addition, rental bikes are invariably single speed beach cruisers. It takes a lot of pedaling to go a little ways, and the seats are not always comfortable. Finally, because the bikes are rented over and over, the quality of rental bikes are often suspect. No problem if you find that out before you ride away; a pain in the butt if you are far from the bike rental shop and the pedal breaks off.
Car Rental Option
Cars are great if you have more than two people, a family to haul around, or lots of luggage. Unfortunately, parking at the most popular tourist hotspots in Tulum is often difficult. In addition, if you’re looking to truly enjoy the tropical Tulum climate, you have to be immersed in it–not pent up in some stuffy automobile! A Tulum scooter rental allows you to fully immerse yourself in the beautiful Caribbean environment–Caribbean breeze, Caribbean sun, Caribbean smells!
Scooter Rental Option
The best option for exploring Tulum is on a scooter. Not only can you quickly move around the city, but you receive a number of other benefits as well. Similar to a bike, you can find parking for a scooter easily wherever you go. In addition, because you are not operating on someone else’s time or schedule, you can come and go to various locations as you please. And if you’re looking to save money, a scooter is great because the cost of gas per mile or kilometer traveled is almost nonexistent–fill up your tank, and drive all week! With a scooter rental you have far greater reach than a bike without the hassles of the corrupt local taxi union!
Tulum Scooter Rental Safety Tips
Now that you have decided to rent a scooter in Tulum, there are a few other things you need to know–most important of all: safety.
If you are going to be safe on a scooter in Tulum, there are a few rules that you’re going to want to follow. Here are a few suggestions:
If you follow these basic instructions, you should be quite safe. Of course, anything can happen–anywhere, but you can avoid most serious problems if you follow the guidelines above.
Tulum Scooter Rental Requirements
As with any type of activity in Tulum, there are certain requirements that you must meet in order to rent a scooter. Take a look at the scooter rental requirements below. If you have any questions about any of them, don’t hesitate to contact us:
Must Be 18 Years or Older
We don’t rent to toddlers or young teenagers, so make sure you are at least 18 years old before reserving your scooter.
Must Possess A Valid Driver's License
You will need to present a driver’s license if you’d like to rent with us. The license must be valid and genuine. However, it can be from any country or state.

Places In Tulum Worth Visiting
Tulum Ruins
By far the most popular and well-known place to visit on a scooter rental in Tulum is the Tulum archeological ruins. If you ever see brochure pictures advertising Tulum vacations, the ruins are the most sellable and photogenic site. Although it is best to accompany someone who knows the history of the Mayan people, you can also visit without any sort of guide.
Tulum Beaches
Tulum (and the entire Riviera Maya) is known for its stunning white-sand beaches. By the time you leave this city, you will have gotten your fill of Caribbean beaches. Because you will have your own private transportation, you will be free to move around at will and explore more of the beaches than most tourists. If you want to see all the local beaches, a Tulum scooter rental is the way to go.
Downtown Tulum
Although there is one “main drag” that runs through the center of Tulum, there are 100’s of side streets that host a variety of eclectic restaurants, bars, shops, and uniquely designed buildings. A Tulum scooter rental makes all of these sidestreets well within your realm of reach.
Gran Cenote
The Gran Cenote just outside of Tulum is an amazing fresh-water swimming hole that tourists really seem to love. It’s especially nice on hot days because the cenote is fed from an underground stream, which makes the water especially cool. If you get hot riding around on your rental scooter, the Gran Cenote is the perfect place to stop.
Cenote Calavera
Another famous cenote in the area is called Cenote Calavera. Like all cenotes in the area, it is filled with cool, clear water. The water is constantly being rejuvenated via the underground river that feeds it. If you have a few hours that are unplanned during your vacation, driving your Tulum scooter rental to Cenote Calavera may be the perfect filler.
Carwash Cenote
Yes, I know the name is stupid, but the Carwash Cenote is one of the most popular sinkholes near Tulum. The Carwash Cenote got its name from the mini tree branches and vines that are hanging near it. It looks like the old style car washes that have the hanging fabric that goes back and forth on your car in order to clean it. It, too, like the other cenotes is connected to the underground watershed, so it is constantly fed with fresh, clean water. Your Tulum scooter rental is the perfect way to visit this landmark.
Beach Clubs
If you’re into drinking Coronas or sipping Margaritas at the beach, there is not a better place to do it at one of the many Tulum beach clubs. The Tulum coast is loaded with beach bars. Whether it’s a chair, a beach bed, or a hammock swinging between two palm trees, you’ll fit right in. If you have the the time to do so, you could easily fill your vacation with nothing more than beach club hopping made infinitely easier because of your Tulum scooter rental.
Bars/Restaurants
In the city of Tulum, you don’t even have to like Mexican food (even though you should definitely try some authentic Mexican food before deciding). There are so many different types of restaurants and bars here that your palette will be satisfied no matter what part of the world you are from. Your Tulum scooter rental is going to allow you to visit restaurants that many tourists don’t have the opportunity taste, as many of the best places are not so easily found on the main streets.
